Utsuroi (移ろい – change, smooth transition)

“Utsuroi” describes the dynamic calm that permeates this work.


 The warm bronze tones of the bamboo trunks contrast vividly with the black-gray leaves, which overlap and intersect in a delicate rhythm. Lines intersect, grow into each other, and create a visual network that expresses both movement and connection.


 The composition is clear and permeable, but never rigid—it breathes in all directions. The alternation of light and shadow, of color and empty space, gives the image a quiet tension that, in Japanese thought, is understood as part of natural change.
