Grace of the Empress (皇妃の気品 - Kōhi no Kihin)
A quiet splendor unfolds in this sumi-e work. The red blossoms—interspersed with golden accents—reminiscent of tulips in form, yet their posture appears upright, proud, and almost reverential. Like a court in perfect order, they stand together—each one powerful in its own right, yet united by an invisible dignity.
The subtly shifting tones between red, burgundy, gold, and olive exude elegance without being ostentatious. They don't bow to the viewer—they simply stand there, in all their independence. In the lower layers, powerful lines and vibrant textures seem to penetrate the soil, as if the growth stemmed from deep conviction.
"Grace of the Empress" (Kōhi no Kihin) unites feminine strength, restraint, and natural authority – entirely in the tradition of Japanese understatement. A work that stands on its own – quiet yet majestic.
